About Physio South East

Physio South East is a private physiotherapy practice operated by Chartered Physiotherapists registered with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists which deals not only with rehabilitation and pain relief from sports and similar injuries but also specialises in dealing with patients who have neurological problems requiring physiotherapy treatment. The practice is equipped with a modern swimming pool for hydrotherapy treatments and also offers acupuncture treatment.

Just a few minutes from Canterbury city centre, Physio South East is easily accessible with private parking. Our qualified physiotherapists are able to offer physiotherapy, acupuncture and Pilates in pleasant and private surroundings.

Miss Rebecca Matthews BSc (Hons) MCSP MAACP

Rebecca qualified as a physiotherapist in Bristol and subsequently worked with the National Health Service at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth where she was trained in a variety of disciplines within the physiotherapy profession. These included cardiothoracic, respiratory, head injuries, intensive care, neurosurgery, neuro rehabilitation, outpatients, hydrotherapy and care of the elderly.

Rebecca has taken a keen interest in neurological rehabilitation attending courses in the Bobath concept which deals with care of patients with injuries to the brain or spinal-cord. Rebecca is also a member of the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and is a qualified Pilates instructor.

More recently, Rebecca has been working as a senior physiotherapist in a busy musculoskeletal outpatients department where she has been dealing with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Rebecca has specialist knowledge in the use of acupuncture for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and pain relief. Her experience and training in hydrotherapy is particularly suited to the treatment of patients with acute or chronic pain and neurological conditions.


Miss Nathalie Drieu BSc (Hons) MCSP

Nathalie qualified as a physiotherapist at Brighton Universitry and then worked with the National Health Service at Queen Elizabeth Queen Mother Hospital in Margate where she gained experienced in a variety of disciplines within the physiotherapy profession. These included orthopaedic, respiratory, intensive care, neuro rehabilitation, outpatients, hydrotherapy and care of the elderly.

Nathalie has taken a keen interest in orthopeadic and outpatient rehabilitation and is now working as a senior physiotherapist in a busy musculoskeletal outpatients department. This involves treating a variety of conditions ranging from acute injuries to chronic musculoskeletal conditions. She has also continued working with orthopeadic rehabilitation both in the acute and outpatient setting.


Mr Bruce Aitken Grad.Dip Phys. MCSP

Bruce qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1983. He has always taken a holistic approach and has studied many forms of "hands-on" treatment. Bruce qualified as a Craniosacral Therapist in 1991 Craniosacral Therapy is Bruce's area of specialty and his interests include using this very gentle but profound method to treat complex and persistent conditions, particularly those relating to backs, necks and headaches.
